Head Chair: Rita Lin (HIA)

Greetings, delegates! My name is Rita Lin, a senior at Hsinchu International Academy, and it is my utmost honor to serve as your President of the UNDP at this year's DISMUN conference. My MUN journey has been a crucial part of my academic and personal growth, deepening my love for debate and collaboration. What began as a curiosity quickly became a passion, one that taught me valuable skills in negotiation, leadership, and critical thinking. Beyond the debates and resolution drafting, I’ve also made many inspiring friends along the way. I truly hope that each of you finds the same joy and fulfillment in your MUN journey. Whether it is your first or tenth conference, I highly encourage each one of you to speak up. I’m excited to witness your insightful discussions and confident public speaking skills during the conference. It will surely be a memorable learning experience! Beyond MUN, I’m always blasting rap music, cafe-hopping in search of the best matcha latte and basque cheesecake, shopping for clothes I probably don’t need, and indulging in my love for Mexican food (tacos and quesadillas are my weakness). If you know any great places around, I’m always down for a good meal and conversation. Lastly, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions! Can’t wait to see y'all in November!

Co-chair: Sophia Chen (KAS)

My name is Sophia Chen, a rising sophomore at Kaohsiung American School (KAS). It is my utmost honor to serve as your deputy president of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in this year's DISMUN. This will be my tenth conference overall and my third time chairing. I was first introduced to MUN in seventh grade; personally, I did not enjoy my first MUN conference, as I felt the committee felt really uncomfortable and suffering. However, it wasn't until my second conference that I really fell in love with the passion of the delegates and the sophisticated debating style. Those who know me will probably describe me as a stubborn person with a lot of opinions; however, I believe that is what allowed me to contribute and debate so intensely. Therefore, I hope to create an environment that inspires all of you to engage in debate and experience the joy I felt when attending MUN conferences. Additionally, outside of MUN, I enjoy listening to music, playing the violin, tennis, and soccer. I hope you will all find DISMUN memorable and see it not just as a conference but as an opportunity to make new friends or explore new topics.
