President: Cobie Lee

Hi everyone! My name is Cobie, and it is my honor to serve as your President for the Crisis Committee at this year's DISMUN.

I am a rising junior at Kang Chiao International School Xiugang Campus. This is my third year in MUN, and if you had told my freshman-year self that I would be saying this today, I probably wouldn't have believed you; but DISMUN will very likely be one of my last, if not the last, MUN conferences of my high school journey. To be honest, I'm still not quite sure how I feel about that, since I used to believe, rather naively, that my passion for MUN could overcome anything. Over time, however, I realized that life inevitably asks us to prioritize, and sometimes even the things we love most have to make room for new goals and responsibilities. While it is bittersweet, I am incredibly grateful for everything MUN has given me over the past three years.

Looking ahead, I hope to study psychology and philosophy in college, somewhere in the United States or Australia. Outside of MUN, I love reading, and I am deeply passionate about scuba diving and freediving. If you ever need a dive buddy, please let me know; I am always happy to have an excuse to get back into the water. In addition, my favorite artist is Olivia Rodrigo, and I have a Spotify playlist for every occasion.

I used to joke that the day you saw me in a Crisis Committee would be the day I had lost my spark for MUN. Well, here I am, in my third Crisis Committee. So I've learned one important lesson: never believe me when I confidently swear I'll never do something in MUN, because somehow I always end up doing exactly that. At this rate, despite repeatedly claiming I'll retire from MUN, I wouldn't be surprised if you see me at yet another conference in the future.

That said, I'm genuinely excited to be here. I hope you'll throw yourselves into the debate; I can't wait to see what all of you accomplish, and I wish everyone the very best of luck.

Deputy President: Sophia Chang

Hello everyone! My name is Sophia, a sophmore at Hsinchu County American School. It’s my utmost honor to serve as the Deputy President of Crisis at DISMUN IX. I first joined MUN in seventh grade, and over the years, it has become one of the highlights of my high school experience. MUN has not only helped me develop my public speaking, teamwork, and global awareness, but has also introduced me to so many incredible people from different schools. Outside of MUN, I enjoy fencing, horseback riding, and spending time with friends, as well as watching movies and listening to music. 

For this conference, I hope you'll all feel comfortable speaking up and sharing your ideas with other. Beyond debating, I also hope it’s a fun and meaningful weekend where you can meet new people and learn something new!
