Security Council

Greetings, delegates! I’m Juliet Fung, a junior at the International Bilingual School of Hsinchu. I am incredibly honored to serve as your President of the Security Council at DISMUN VIII! This conference marks my 12th conference and 5th time chairing. Through attending these conferences, I’ve found long-lasting friendships, gained confidence in formal settings, and learned the nuances of global matters. Aside from MUN, I enjoy listening to music, video editing, spending time with my friends, karaoke sessions, and watching Netflix series (especially When I Fly Towards You). Hello DISMUN VIII delegates! I am Joseph Lee, a sophomore at Dominican International School (DIS). I am honored to be serving as your Deputy President of the Security Council at DISMUN VIII. Like many of you, I had no idea what MUN was and went unprepared going into my first conference. I walked away from the conference with a total of one speech made and a distaste for MUN. I eventually challenged my fear of public speaking by rejoining MUN in 8th grade, and I’ve been an eager MUNer ever since. Through this conference, I hope to give you all the best experience I can and to help the more timid delegates feel the courage to speak up and voice their ideas. Outside of MUN, I’m an F1 and football fan. I also like to listen to podcasts of philosophical debates. MUN is an opportunity for delegates to develop and nurture confident personalities, critical thinking abilities, and diplomatic skills. I hope you all have a great experience. I can't wait to see you all in November!
